TOP ALQUROY PROCESS

Low reflectance process for aluminum to use in sensor devices

Recently, more and more sensors have been installed in various devices to measure and monitor force, sound, acceleration, temperature, light, color, pressure, magnetism, speed, etc. instantaneously. Not only for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), autonomous cars, and industrial robots for automation and manpower saving, but also for telecommunication, home appliances, the applications of sensors are sharply increasing.
OKUNO has developed TOP ALQUROY PROCESS for high-precision sensor devices, sensing cameras, optical components and optical equipment.

Product features, specifications

Conventionally, black finishing of aluminum has been achieved by black chromium plating, black electroless nickel plating, black-dyed anodized aluminum. Black chromium plating can gain a dark black film, but the plating causes a high environmental burden. While, black electroless nickel plating has a problem in corrosion resistance.
As the leading chemical supplier in aluminum finishing, OKUNO has improved the pre-treatment process, and have succeeded to discover a new black finishing process with a lower reflectance than black-dyed anodizing. Unlike coatings and paints, this process can be applied directly to aluminum. Additionally, the reflectance of aluminum can decrease by micro-roughening on aluminum surface.
This process enables to decrease the reflectance of aluminum less than 5.0% from 350 nm to 750 nm in the visible light and long wavelength range.
